— The 40-plus members of the Gravette High School Marching Lions did just that - paraded down the streets at Disney World in Orlando, FL, during spring break. They are shown above relaxing inthe “Jungle King Room”.

Accompanied by numerous parents and directed by Mike Johnson, the group, besides enjoying the musical marching experience, also enjoyed the themepark attraction. It was the GHS band’s third trip to Disney World. And this one held a special surprise.

The Gravette band was selected for a special filmed performance which, according to Disney officials, will be used in the park’s promos in the future - perhaps as long as the next four years.

Johnson said he was “so proud” of the band, fortheir performance, for their professionalism and their personal behavior which was exemplary. “The hour and a half filming by the professional crew required only one re-take,” Johnson said.

Gravette bands visited the Disney theme park in 2006 and 2002, Johnson said. He expressed appreciation for all the support, including financial contributions that made the trip possible.
