— A dinner to benefit the people of Haiti will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Saturday, May 1, at the Main Street Pavilion (next door to the Chicken Coop Flea Market) in Gentry.

The special dinner is being sponsored by the Gentry Mennonite Youth, with 100 percent of the proceeds donated to Christian Disaster Relief - Shelter Division. A freewill donation will be taken.

Raymond Withers, a self-funded volunteer who has spent 11 years working in Haiti will give a brief message at about 6:30 p.m.

Withers was in Portau-Prince when the devastating January earthquake hit. He was involved in rescue work there following the huge quake.
