MAYSVILLE NEWS

— It’s still summertime and the hot weather is a good reminder. We sure do need rain but it’s August so we may have more hot weather.

Patti King and a friend, Petru, both of Lowell, visited Jack and Sylvia Tucker on Saturday last week.

Orpha Wardlaw has enjoyed her grandchildren, Zack and Selena Fincher of Tulsa, OK, this week. They came to church with Orpha and Selena played a song on the piano which was very good. We enjoyed her doing that for us. They are the children of Steve and Eva Rea (Wardlaw) Fincher. I think their parents were coming after them Sunday. It was good to see them.

Stacie Hunt and son Noah of Fayetteville visited their grandparents and great-grandparents, Jack and Sylvia Tucker, on Saturday.

This hot weather has sure stopped some of the lawn mowing. I don’t like to see the yards brown but part of mine is.

Byron and Tracy Warren visited me a while Sunday afternoon. I enjoyed visiting with them. I’m always glad for them to come over.

It was good to see AnnaBell Philpot at church Sunday morning after spending some time in the hospital. Glad she is feeling better and hope she continues to improve.

Shelley Bishop visited Jack and Sylvia Tucker on Wednesday and gave Sylvia a permanent.

Jack and Sylvia Tucker and I went to Vanzant Produce Market and got some peaches on Monday. They really have a big crop of peaches, apples and grapes this year.

News is short. I guess it is too hot for people to visit.
