William Austin

William H. “Bill” Austin, 86, of Bentonville, died July 26, 2010, in Fayetteville.

He was born August 15, 1923, in Pea Ridge, the son of Oscar Wallace and Marie Gadberry Austin. He was a graduate of Decatur High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II. He was awarded a Purple Heart. He was an owner/operator truck driver for Tri-State in Joplin, Mo., and retired from Peterson Industries.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Pauline Austin of Bentonville; one son, Billy Austin and wife Donna of Gravette; one daughter, Judy Vincent of Joplin, Mo.; one stepson, Donny Duncan and wife Bobbi of Rogers; two stepdaughters, Peggi Curtis of Sulphur Springs and Patti Livingston of Louisiana; one sister Margie Haas of Altamonte Springs, Fla., and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held July 29 at First Christian Church in Gravette with Jack Austin officiating.

Burial was at Hillcrest Cemetery in Gravette under the direction of Callison-Lough Funeral Home, Bentonville.

James Butler IV

James Robert “Robbie” Butler IV, 25, of Bentonville, died Monday, July 27, 2010, in Gravette.

He was born August 30, 1984, in Newport, the son of Sherry Moss and James Robert Butler.

Survivors include his mother, Sherry Butler of Rogers; his father, James Robert Butler III of Bentonville; one son, Ethan Waddle of Rogers; and two brothers, Joshua Butler and Salamen Butler, both of Gravette.

Cremation arrangements were by Epting Funeral Home in Bentonville.

Paul Mahon

Paul Mahon, 72, of Hiwasse, died Saturday, July 31, 2010, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville.

He was born March 14, 1938, in Heber Springs, the son of Jeff and Birl Williams Mahon.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1958 to 1962. He married Fonnie Pruitt in Bentonville on August 31, 1962. He was employed by Bear Brand Hosiery in Bentonville for more than 10 years and operated a bulldozer service until 1983. He operated his ranch near Hiwasse until his death.

Survivors include his wife, Fonnie Mahon of Hiwasse; two sons, Paul David Mahon of Hiwasse and Jeff Mahon and wife Jennifer of Gravette; one daughter, Pamela Diane Galvan of Hiwasse; two brothers, Roy Mahon of Republic, Mo., and Att Mahon of Bentonville; one sister, Lonnie Burns of Rogers: and three grandchildren.

Visitation is August 4 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. August 5 at Bella Vista Cemetery.

Harold Franklin Partlo

Harold Franklin Partlo, 78, of Gentry, died July 29, 2010, at Quail Ridge Living Center, West Siloam Springs, Okla. He was born Aug. 18, 1931, in Mamie, Mich., the son of Harvey Partlo and Sylvia Aba Partlo. He was a retired plumber for Bears Rooter. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He married Bernice Elliott in Ypsilanti, Mich. in 1952. They lived in Glendale, Calif., for 31 years before moving to Gentry 13 years ago. He was preceded in death by one brother, Clifford Partlo. Survivors include his wife of the home; two daughters, Barbara Partlo of Burbank, Calif., and Belinda Ward of Pea Ridge; two grandchildren; and two brothers, Carl Partlo of South Carolina. No services are planned at this time. Arrangements are by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.

Andrew Wallace

Andrew “A.C.” Wallace, 75, of Bella Vista died July 26, 2010, at his home. He was born Nov. 26, 1934, in Maui, Hawaii, to Andrew and Cora Souza Wallace. Survivors include his wife, Leslie; two sons, Derrick Wallace of Rogers and Harold Dean Jr. of Anaheim, Calif.; four daughters, Debbie Lutz of Denver, Doreen Curtis of Gravette, Darlene Molina of Riverside, Calif., and Denise Ferraro of Bella Vista; a brother; a sister; 14 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held July 31 at the Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel.

Clayton Witham

Clayton Eastburn Witham, 93, of Sulphur Springs, died July 29, 2010. He was born Nov. 14, 1916, in Philadelphia, Penn., the son of William and Amy Schultz Witham. He was a graduate of Duke University and worked for Pitney Bowes in Philadelphia and later in the bookkeeping department of Shiloh Bible School in Sherman, N.Y. He married Faith Clough in 1963. The couple moved to Sulphur Springs with the Shiloh community. His wife preceded him in death. Survivors include a brother, Warren Clough and wife Mary of Sulphur Springs. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 7, at Church of Shiloh in Sulphur Springs, with James Janisch officiating. Cremation arrangements are by Callison-Lough Funeral Home.
