We are sure in need of rain. Maybe we will get some soon. Sure has stopped a lot of the lawn mowing. I’d rather see the yard green.

My brother, Vernon Vandiver of Bentonville, visited me on Saturday afternoon. I sure did enjoy that. We had a good visit. It’s good to see him out and able to drive for himself again.

I had a visitor on Friday morning. Eula Evans came up and spent the morning with me. My neighbor’s son, Virgil Jasper, knew she was wanting to come up so I called her, she said “yes” and he went and got her, washed her car, then took her home. I sure enjoyed her visit. I think she enjoyed getting to come up. We thank him for working it out for us.

Anyone not saving Best Choice labels for another organization please save them for the Maysville E. H. Club to help with expenses of the community building. Contact me at 787-5712 or Jewel Lukens, 1-479-291-4643.

Patti King of Lowell visited her parents, Jack and Sylvia Tucker, on Monday. She went to visit Debbi Sims and they were going to Tulsa the next morning to catch their flight to go to the Dominican Republic. Hope they have a good trip.

The Teel family had a birthday party at the community building on Saturday. They invited Sylvia Tucker. She said they had a good dinner and enjoyed visiting.

Katie Reynolds and daughter Katelyn visited me on Friday. Skyler Warren also visited. Katelyn and Skyler are my great-granddaughters. I enjoyed them all.

Gary and Helen Chism visited me on Thursday evening. They had their grandson Billy Cook with them. He is my great-grandson. I enjoyed them coming by.

News is short. I guess it’s too hot to get out and visit.

Reminder to the Tuckers — This Sunday, August 15, is the Tucker reunion at the Maysville community building. It is always the Sunday after Gravette Day on Saturday.
