School starts tomorrow! Watch out for those big yellow buses, the excited little ones with their too-heavy backpacks and for the bewildered pets who don’t understand why they are being left behind.

Last Saturday was the first and probably only Saturday I’ve had off this summer. I took advantage and went to the Farmers’ Market. They had some beautiful produce.

Mr. and Mrs. Ward Carrier, Mr. and Mrs. Brian Carrier and I enjoyed lunch with DaleLynn and Lamarise Carrier on Sunday.

Billy Habermehl is recuperating at home following surgery. Remember him in your prayers.

Regina Keith is spending a few days with her mother in Aurora, Mo.

Mitch Rogers’ brother was scheduled for surgery in Texas on Aug. 17. Keep the family in your prayers.

Sympathy is extended to the family of Leroy Elsea. Although the Elseas have lived in Gravette for several years, they are former Hiwasse residents.

Myrtle Presley from Sulphur Springs and Nona Mae Weaver from Houston, Texas, visited with me on Tuesday.

It sounded good the last two mornings to wake to the sound of raindrops hitting the roof. It didn’t amount to much but maybe showed us there was still some rain up there.

Mr. and Mrs. Lofty Carrier and Lamarise have returned home after spending a couple of days in Cheyenne, Okla., touring the Black Kettle National Grassland.
