— Gravette area residents will want to mark Saturday, September 18, on their calendar to attend the Gravette School District first-ever “Arts in the Park” celebration.

That advice comes from Suzanne Jessup, publicity chairperson for the GHS Performing Arts Committee which is coordinating the event which will be held on the shores of Loch Lomond at Tiree Park in Bella Vista.

The evening will start at 5 p.m. with a barbecue chicken dinner along with a display of student art work.

Performances which will showcase the Gravette High School Band and a choir comprised of middle and high school students will begin at 5:45 p.m. There will also be presentations by students from the GHS drama department.

Tickets are available at the Bank of Gravett and at the Hiwasse branch, Arvest Bank in Gravette and at the Highlands and the Delta Trust and Bank of the Ozarks in Bella Vista. The cost is $8 for adults and $5 for students.

All proceeds from the event will be divided between the band, choral, art and drama departments at Gravette School to benefit their programs.

Tiree Park is located one mile west from the intersection of Hiwasse and Highlands Road.
