Continued from last week:

On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Ward Carrier, Mr. and Mrs. Brian Carrier and I had lunch with Lofty, DaleLynn and Lamarise, helping Lofty celebrate his birthday.

Connie and W. T. Rail have spent the weekend visiting family and attending Gravette Day. They also visited Ruby Hight before returning home to Tupelo, Miss., on Sunday.

It was good to see Roy and Debbie Webb able to be in church on Sunday.

Seventeen former classmates met for their 50th reunion on Friday night. Saturday afternoon a large part of them gathered at the home of Novella Carlton for an afternoon of visiting. The one coming the farthest was Guy Newkirk from California.

The Class of ‘63 and some members of the Class of ‘64 met at the Hiwasse Nazarene Church fellowship hall for a reunion on Saturday night.

Larry and Zena Weihe celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on Sunday.

The Baptist Church held a celebration on Sunday for Ed and Loretta Stay on their 50th wedding anniversary.

Koletun Hamilton spent Friday night with his grandparents while his parents attended Robert Paul’s 20th class reunion.

Former residents, the Davidson sisters, Beverly and Patsy, are spending the week in the area, hoping to visit with some old friends.

August 18, 1960, G. D. Searle and Co. began marketing the first birth control pills in the United States.

Congratulations to all our friends and neighbors who won ribbons at the County Fair.

Those having lunch with Mr. and Mrs. Ward Carrier on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Lofty Carrier and Lamarise, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Brooks, Mr. and Mrs. Brian Carrier and myself.

Mitch Rogers has returned home from Texas where his brother’s surgery was termed a success.

Larry Keith is not feeling well at this time.

It was good to see Billy Habermehl able to be in church on Sunday.

We always miss Ruby Hight when she is not able to attend church.

On Gravette Day Karen Burns met Bonnie Blevins in Gravette where they visited with former classmates. Later they met Vickie Thomas in Rogers for lunch and shopping.

Margaret Houston and daughter Linda visited with Karen Burns one afternoon. Linda was very excited about school starting.

Robert Hamilton had surgery on his foot on Friday. We wish him a speedy recovery.

Leon Bertschy, Jr. was visiting home folks last weekend. He brought his oldest son to the University at Fayetteville.

The Bertschy family is having a family dinner Sunday night at the home of Shannon Mitchell.

Doug and Leon Bertschy’s sisters Vivian and Verna are both undergoing treatment at this time.

Hang up a snakeskin and it will bring rain.
