GENTRY — The planning and zoning commission approved two tract splits and discussed a variance at its Nov. 18 meeting. Tract splits were granted to Jewel Anderson and to Decatur State Bank. The Andersons brought the commission a new plat with an access road to the back lot from Wesley Road, resolving access concerns. Decatur State Bank requested a lot split in order to sell a portion of land along Peterson Road to two separate parties. Both splits were granted by unanimous vote of members present — Danny Feemster, Jim Kooistra, Wanda Meyer, David Nelson and Mike Parks. Paul Church was absent. Also discussed at the meeting was the possibility of a variance in regard to paving the parking lot of a new Wooden Spoon Restaurant. The Klassens would like to pave only half the lot initially. The commission, by concensus, thought the variance request would not be a problem and suggested the Klassens apply for the variance by required procedures.
