Commission approves tract splits

Gentry appeals board grants variance to build front porch

GENTRY - The planning and zoning commission approved two tract splits and discussed a variance at its Nov. 18 meeting.

Tract splits were granted to Jewel Anderson and to Decatur State Bank. The Andersons brought the commissiona new plat with an access road to the back lot from Wesley Road, resolving access concerns.

Decatur State Bank requested a lot split in order to sell a portion of land along Peterson Road to two separate parties.

Both splits were granted by unanimous vote of members present - Danny Feemster, JimKooistra, Wanda Meyer, David Nelson and Mike Parks. Paul Church was absent.

Also discussed at the meeting was the possibility of a variance in regard to paving the parking lot of a new Wooden Spoon Restaurant. The Klassens would like to pave only half the lot initially. The commission, by concensus, thought the variance request would not be a problem and suggested the Klassens apply for the variance by required procedures.

The commission, when meeting as appeals board on Nov. 18, granted an appeal from George Ellis to permit him to build a small porch in front of his home. The variance was for 30 inches.
