We had all sorts of weather on Thanksgiving Day, rain, freezing rain and snow. It all moved out but the trees were still iced over on Friday. It’s still rather cool.

Jack and Sylvia Tucker spent Thanksgiving Day in the home of their daughter, Patti King of Lowell. Others attending were Ron and Debbie Sims, Shelly Bishop and friend Petru of Lowell and some friends from Washington State. They report a good meal and visiting. It was an enjoyable day.

Our community was saddened by the death of Jessie Hill on Friday night. She had made her home with Gary and Gwen Singleton for some time. Sympathy is extended to the family.

Betty Austin hosted a group of her relatives from Oklahoma at the Maysville Community Building. They all had a good day.

I had a good Thanksgiving the day before the holiday. Steve and Susan Tucker of Bella Vista, Sheldon Tucker, Seth and Melody Tucker of Harrison. They brought the turkey and all that goes with it. All I had to fix was mashed potatoes, hot rolls and tea. I got by easy. Others attending were Gary and Helen Chism, Byron and Tracy Warren and Skylar, Katlynn and Tyler Martin and their mother, Katie, all of Gravette. We had a good meal and visiting.

Billy and Violet Lovell had several of their children and grandchildren as dinner guests on Thanksgiving Day. Jewel Lukens also attended. She saidthey had a lot of food and all enjoyed it.

Sylvia Tucker went to Siloam Springs Sunday afternoon to visit a friend, Monte Rae Teel, at Woodland Manor. She had a stroke recently but seems to be getting along well.

My brother, Jim Vandiver of Broken Arrow, came on Friday morning and wanted to know if I wanted to go to Bentonville with him. I thought I might as well. We went by and got my other brother, Vernon Vandiver, and they took me out to eat for my birthday. We went to the Dixie Cafe. They had talked to Clifton and they took me there and also to Clifton and Judy’s. Judy had a cake so I guess they had this all planned but I didn’t know it. It was great to see my granddaughter Nichole and her son Tyler. I had agood birthday. Makes getting older not so bad.

Our refrigerator at the community building went out. We have had a good one donated by Matt and Karla Ballmann. We really do thank them. It will be delivered over there the first of this week.

The Mitchell family of Colcord had their Thanksgiving dinner at the Maysville Community Building. They have it there every year. We appreciation their donation for use of the building. These donations are what help us keep the building to be used and we are glad when people use it.

The Hunter and Summerfield families had their Thanksgiving dinner at the community building last Sunday. We thank them for their donation. It all helps.
