Meth lab discovered

— Police Chief Jack Sanders, assisted by Officer Jeremy Wall, located a meth lab and arrested its alleged owner on Nov. 5.

According to police reports, Sanders found a white trash bag in a ditch on Douglas Cemetery Road moments afterhe saw Jeremy Stamps, 30, of rural Gentry, drive down the road, and return to Arkansas Highway 264. Inside the bag were the leftovers of a meth lab, according to the report released by the Highfill Police Department.

When Stamps was stopped and questioned by Wall, he admitted owning the meth lab and discarding it on Douglas Cemetery Road.

He also admitted making methamphetamine in the well house at his father’s residence.

When Stamps was arrested, components to make another meth lab were found in his car.

Stamps is being held in the Benton County Jail on felony charges of manufacturing a controlled substance. Bond was set at $20,000.
