Rain before church on a Sunday in December means rain all week.

Sympathy is extended to Leon and Doug Bertschy and other family members for the loss of their sister, Vivian Allen.

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Jack Sandlin who recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Jack is a former Hiwasse boy.

I happened to look out the window one evening and saw two deer eating my sage. If some hunter happens to bag one of them, the meat will already be seasoned.

Spike Bequette and Chad Slinkard were seriously burned last week in an explosion in a feed mill in Fairland, OK, where they were welding underground. They are in the burn center in Tulsa, Okla. Both boys have Hiwasse connections. Remember them in your prayers.

John and Julia Holloway entertained their employees with a Christmas party Saturday night. A good time was reported by all.

Joan Lowe is to have surgery on her shoulder this week. Remember her in your prayers.

Linda Fisher is spending a few days with her mother, Ruby Hight.

Eddie Clorer from Truth For Today was guest speaker at the Hiwasse Church of Christ on Sunday morning.

Those enjoying lunch with Mr. and Mrs. Ward Carrier on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Lofty Carrier, Trevor Ellicot, Mr. and Mrs. Brian Carrier, Amy Brooks and myself.

Saturday morning Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hamilton were in Mountainburg, Ark .,to attend the funeral of their neighbor, Joe Allen.

Reese and Beau Hamilton spent Friday night with Grandpa Robert and Grandma Geneva Hamilton.

Sunday morning Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hamilton attended their grandchildren’s Christmas program at the Bentonville Nazarene Church, then came back to Hiwasse for church and the church’s Christmas dinner after church.
