Gentry cheer squad headed for state competition

— Gentry High School cheerleaders competed five times this season and will compete in state competition this weekend.

The Gentry cheerleaders took the following awards during their regular season:

First place in meets at Siloam Springs, Rogers-Heritage, Springdale-Har-Ber and Gentry; second at Morrilton.

Stunt Groups

Chelsey Beach, Olivia Godin, Kendra Pettit, Kayla Jackson and McKenna James took first place at Har-Ber and third place at Gentry.

Ashlee Doyle, Kaylin Cripps, Payton Morretti, Lacey Stephens and Leslea Barker took third at Har-Ber Tumbling

Chelsey Beach took second at Siloam Springs andMcKenna James took third there.

The Gentry cheer squad competes at the state levelon Saturday at the Summit Arena in Hot Springs. Competition is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.

The Gentry cheerleaders were state runners-up in 2009 and are hoping to claim the title this year.

The GHS cheerleaders are coached by Joni Wilson.
