— Sympathy is extended to Shannon Bush and her family for the loss of their loved one.

Ellen Belts Nichols is reported to be improving although she is still a patient in the hospital in Colorado.

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Hurshel Keith who celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary this week.

Dale Henry has spent some time in Mercy Hospital this week following a heart attack at his home Wednesday evening.

Tues., Dec. 21, is the first day of winter and the shortest day of the year. I’ll be glad to see the days start getting longer.

Did it snow here Saturday night? Or did that strong north wind just blow a puff in from the Northern Plains?

Those having lunch with me on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Tom Brooks, Mr. and Mrs. Brian Carrier, Mr. and Mrs. Ward Carrier, Mr. and Mrs. Lofty Carrier, Gabe Carrier and Trevor Ellicot.

Larry and Regina Keith hosted a gathering of Hiwasse Church of Christmembers on Saturday night to honor their pastor, Bro. Gene Roberts.

Lofty and DaleLynn Carrier made a trip to Mulberry, Ark., on Sunday afternoon to take Maxine Holloway to spend some time with her sister Faye.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hamilton, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Fletcher, Novella Carlton and Dean Fletcher went to Catfish John’s to help Dean celebrate his birthday Saturday night.

On Sunday Novella Carlton went to Farmington to attend her granddaughter Autumn’s band concert and Tuesday evening sheattended grandson Jake’s Christmas program in Gravette.

Grandpa and Grandma Bates came from Ada, Okla., over the weekend to help Koltun Hamilton celebrate his birthday. Others helping celebrate were his parents, brother, sister, Grandpa and Grandma Hamilton, Donna Fletcher and her two granddaughters, friend Kieli and Great-Grandpa Dean Fletcher.

Dec. 15, 1944, a plane carrying bandleader Glenn Miller disappeared in thick fog over the English Channel. The plane was never found.
