Gravette FFA supporters meet

Wednesday, December 22, 2010

— Members of the Gravette FFA Supporters met Tuesday, Dec. 7, at 6:30 p.m. The main order of business was going over paperwork required by the IRS to work toward completion of the Form 1023.

The final two slots for the board of directors were filled. We now have a seven-member board. This fills the required number stated in ourbylaws. These members were voted in at terms varying from one to three years. At this meeting board members voted to make changes to the bylaws. That way they will concur with federal requirements.

William Tapp reported that a handout was given to FFA students to inform their parents of our membership drive. Future handouts will be distributed containing information about our current fund-raising efforts. We are hopeful that these handouts will encourage much needed parent participation in an organization focused on bettering the FFA experience for their children.

It was announced that the FFA members are collecting spent vehicle batteries. A collection site is set up at the High School in the Agricultural Department.

The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 11, at 6:30.
