JGT Club holds meeting

— The monthly meeting of the Jolly Good Times Club was held Thursday, Dec. 16, at the Billy V. Hall Senior Activity Center with five members and one guest, Charlie Griffin, present.

President Jeanne Hubbard led the pledge of allegiance to the flag and the singing of “Winter Wonderland.” Her devotion was on the reasons God chose Mary to be Jesus’ mother from “May It Always Be True” by Charles W. Pollard and a “Faith Matters” column by Leslie Belden.

Five persons answered roll call: Chia - “May the Christmas spirit invade our homes and our lives,” Mary - bits of Christmastrivia, Susan - “Remembering and Smiling at Past Holidays,” Betty - a joke from the Dec. Reader’s Digest and Jeanne - “A Woman’s Life.”

Susan Holland read a recap of the November meeting and treasurer Mary Griffin gave the financial report.

In new business, Susan explained the recycled greeting card program for St. Jude’s Ranch for Children. Chia Greer suggested a plaque be made listing all past J.G.T. Club presidents.

Eda and Harlan Montag joined the group for Christmas dinner at the Center.

The next meeting will be Wednesday, Jan. 26, at 10:30 a.m. at the Senior Center. Mary Griffin will give the program.
