MT PLEASANT NEWS

Where do I begin? It has been quite some time since I have written. I think I will start with the last of October. We had our annual fall hayride and wiener roast on the 30th. Lots of kids and food. Then on Sunday, the 31st, we had our fifth Sunday singing. We all had a great time with lots of special music.

November was a little busy also. We at Mt. Pleasant Church got together with sister churches in Hiwasse at the Christian Church in Hiwasse for our annual community Thanksgiving. We all had a great time listening to special music and bringing a couple of our own.

The Edgmon brothers and sisters met at my house for Thanksgiving again this year. Those attending were Bill, Susan, John, Karen, Haley andJacob Edgmon, Scott, Jonas, Heather, Gabe, Abi and Ema Edgmon, Wilma Fladager, Edie, Josh, Melissa, Trinity and Peyton Burnett, Beverly, Dale and Anthony Nelson, Jessica, Gary and Asher Williams and Gavin Nelson, Diane and Brian Carrier, Becky Edgmon, Jenny, Logan and Addie Wortman, David, Kim, Ethan and Callie McVay, Lindsey and Brenna Hitson, Phyllis, Jordan and Kaleb Burnett plus Darlene and Louise McVay, Alan Sanders and me. We had a houseful and plenty to eat.

We had our Christmas fellowship dinner on December 18. Not a lot of folks but lots of good food.

On Friday, December 17, Bill and Susan Edgmon hosted a soup and chili supper for family and friends. I believe Bill said that there were about 35 in attendance. We all had a great time.

The little children of Mt. Pleasant Church had their Christmas program Sunday the 19th. The children did great and presented a wonderful program.

I almost forgot to mention the Gravette Community Choir. What a great time we had participating in the choir. By that I mean Darlene and Louise McVay, Wilma Fladager, Becky Denver, Gary and Alexus Herling and myself. Gabra Stewart, who directed the choir, is great. Charlene Yingst did a great job in setting up the stage. All in all it was a wonderful experience, one that I hope I can repeat in the years to come. Great job, Gabra and Charlene and support staff.

I hope everyone has a blessed and safe Christmas. Remember what the season represents because without Christ there would be no Christmas.
