— Walmart driver Kenny Threet, based out of Bentonville, presents a $250 check to his wife and Gentry librarian Darla Threet for his hours of volunteerism at the Gentry Public Library. The donation to the library was through Walmart's Volunteerism Always Pays program. Walmart associates volunteer their own time at community organizations such as food pantries and educational facilities and apply for a charitable contribution to the organization from Walmart. In 2009, more than 1.5 million volunteer hours reported by Walmart associates translated to more than $11 millions in grant contributions to eligible organizations.
