DECATUR — Decatur had two young men make the All-Conference team this year.
Seniors Cody Ben and Blake Wilkins were selected by the 4-AA conference coaches. Three others received honorable mention: Taylor Pickup, Brady Graves and Brian Cox.
Ben, who played as a running back/receiver, came from Rogers at the beginning of the season. Ben was one of the team's stronger players but was injured in the first homegame and was unable to complete the season.
Wilkins, who played quarterback/secondary, played football for Decatur since junior high.
Pickup played as an offensive/defensive lineman, Graves played back/linebacker and Cox was the fullback.
Wilkins has played for Decatur since his freshman year, with the exception of last season when the district didn’t field a team because of lack of participation.
“I am proud of the efforts made by the whole team this year and especially proud of the way these young men played and led their team all season long,” Coach Stan Ellis said as he announced the honors.
