James Gann

James “Nick” Gann, 67 of Bentonville, died Dec. 22, 2010, in Bentonville.

He was born May 20, 1943, in Garfield, to Forrest Edward and Myrtle Leota Erisman Gann. He was a computer control operator for Kraft and a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Bentonville.

He is survived by his wife, Janett Joyce Ausmus Gann, of the home; one son, Nick Edward Gann, of Bella Vista; daughters, Anita Carol Holmes, of Gentry, and Shannon Sue Tucker, of Bella Vista; his sister, Vickie Gail Meadors, of Bentonville; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services were Dec. 27 at the Bethel Baptist Church, with Larry Lovvorn, Mike McEuen and Jerry Self officiating. Interment was at the Bayless Cemetery.

Arrangements were by Benton County Funeral Home of Rogers.

Bobby Hood

Bobby Ray Hood, 58, of Gentry, died Dec. 25, 2010, at his home.

He was born Dec. 6,1952, in Sacramento, Calif., to William Hood and Marche Cage Hood. He graduated from Springdale High School in 1971. He later moved to Gentry, where he owned and operated Hood’s Auto Service for many years.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Marche Hood.

Survivors include one daughter, Cassie Hood, of Colcord, Okla.; one grandchild, Bodee Hood, of Colcord; his father, William Hood, of Highfill; two sisters, Karen Hood, of Highfill, and Mona Hutchek, of Gentry; his biological father, Bob Roberts, of Springdale.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 31, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.

Jeff Mahon

Jeff Corby Mahon, 30, of Gravette, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010, at his home. He was born on May 24, 1980, in Gravette, to Paul Mahon and Fonnie Pruitt Mahon.

He had lived in this area all of his life. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul.

Jeff is survived by his wife Jennifer of Gravette; one daughter, Mary Mahon of Gravette; his mother, Fonnie Mahon of Hiwasse; one brother, Paul David Mahon of Hiwasse; one sister, Pamela Diane Galvan of Bella Vista; and two nieces, Lindsey Foster and Megan Galvan.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Hiwasse with Thelma Creel officiating. Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark.

Marlene Evans

Lavona Marlene Evans, 73, of Gentry, Arkansas, died December 28, 2010, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital, Siloam Springs, Ark. Born May 7, 1937 in Upland, California, she was the daughter of Calvin Ford and Minnie Morris Ford. She lived in the ElmSprings and Highfill area for the past 52 years. Marlene was a member of the Chapter 359 of the Gentry Eastern Star. She retired from the Gentry Schools after 27 years of working in food service. She was a member of the Mason Valley Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Otis “Bill” Evans of the home; one son, Rusty Evans and wife Sandy of Highfill, Ark.; one daughter, Melissa Smith and husband Ronny of Moseley, Okla.; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and one sister, Gaylene Hardin of Garfield, Ark.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, Dec. 31, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, Ark., with Pastor Bruce Holland and Earl Willoughby officiating. Burial will follow at Highfill Cemetery, Highfill, Ark. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 30, at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Ark.
