Decatur man stabbed

— Brandon Sourjohn, 29, was arrested for allegedly stabbing a Decatur man during the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Derrick Perry was stabbed at Sourjohn’s residence at 555 Jerry Street in Decatur about 4 a.m. Wednesday, according to police Chief Terry Luker.

Perry was stabbed once in the abdomen and once in the chest with a three- to four-inch blade, Luker said.

First responders weren’t called until 5:30 a.m., when Perry went to his home at the Garden Walk Apartments and hismother dialed 911. He was transported by air ambulance to Washington Regional Hospital in Fayetteville.

Sourjohn, Perry, and Sourjohn’s girlfriend Amy King were partying together at Sourjohn’s house when the stabbing occurred, according to Luker. Alcohol was involved in the incident, he said.

Perry is a 2008 graduate of the Decatur High School. King was at home on Wednesday but declined to comment on the incident. Sourjohn was arrested on felony charges of battery in the first degree and transported to the Benton County Jail where he is being held with a $30,000 bond.
