Ravenna Arlene Highlander Floyd, 55, of Siloam Springs, died Thursday, January 28, 2010. She was born August 31, 1934, the daughter of Jim and Etta Highlander.

She spent most of her adult life in Topeka. She was a nurse for more than 30 years, most recently with Dr. K. Marcus Poemoceah in Gravette. After her retirement from nursing she taught a Bible class for youth.

Survivors include two sons, Christopher Floyd and wife Alayne and Timothy Floyd and wife Teresa; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, February 1, at Siloam Springs Seventh Day Adventist Church under direction of Stockdale Funeral Service of Rogers.

Nora

Nora MaeVangilder, 99, of Gravette, died Saturday, January 30, 2010, in Bentonville. She was born November 20, 1910, in Richland, MO, the daughter of Seymore and Lora Jobe Jones.

Mrs. Vangilder was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gravette.

Survivors include one son, Billy Dean Jones and wife Nita of Blythe, CA; one daughter, Joann Nees of Gravette; and seven grandchildren, Dale Nees and Darla Evans of Gravette, Bill and Anna Rayhawk, Jeri Lynn Rayhawk, Robin Jones, Donna and Corey Jones and Richard Chatdelaine.

Funeral service is this Wednesday, February 3, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Bro. Glynn Bertrand officiating. Arrangements are by Callison-Lough Funeral Home.

Lytle Carlton, 72, of Hiwasse, died Saturday, January 30, 2010, in Fayetteville. He was born December 23, 1937, in Coal Hill, AR, the son of Thomas A. and Verna Davis Carlton.

Mr. Carlton served in the 2nd Armored Division, 17th Engineers for two years, stationed at Fort Hood, TX. He was a truck driver for E. L. Reddish Produce for 14 years and later retired after 20 years with Walmart Transportation. He was named Arkansas Truck Driver of the Year for Walmart in 1993.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Novella Carlton; two daughters, Lanora Carver and husband Richard and Lisa Gregg and husband Tracy; and two grandchildren, Autumn Rae Gregg and Jake Glee Carver.

Graveside service is this Wednesday, February 3, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery under direction of Callison-Lough Funeral Home.

Paul Berndt

Paul J. Berndt, 79, of Gravette, died January 31, 2010, in Bella Vista. He was born April 25, 1930, in Monument, KS, the son of William and E. Ella Hanson Berndt.

Mr. Berndt was a farmer and also a Braille worker. He was a member of Bella Vista Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nona Capehart Berndt, and a daughter, Glenda Berndt.

Survivors include two sons, Edward Berndt of Gravette and Daniel Berndt of Rocky Comfort, MO; one daughter, Betty Lingenfelter of Joplin, MO; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 4, at Bella Vista Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul Hass officiating. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery under direction of Benton County Funeral Home.

Max

Max Crawley, 86, of Gravette, died Friday, January 29, 2010, at Highlands Healthcare and Rehab Center in Bella Vista. He was born September 20, 1923, near Maysville, the son of William Clifford andTina All Crawley.

Mr. Crawley with the Crawley family owned and operated Oakridge Game Farm near the Maysville community for more than 50 years.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Crawley of the home; three daughters, Markeeta Puryear and husband Richard and Wateena Ahrens, all of Gravette, and Coweeta King and husband Kenny of Vinita, OK; one son, Bobby Woolman and wife Doris of Vinita; and one brother, Don Crawley of Maysville; a sister; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held Tuesday, February 2, at 2 p.m. at the Church of Christ in Gravette. Burial was at Maysville Cemetery under direction of Ozark Funeral Home of Southwest City.
