— The monthly meeting of the Jolly Good Times Club was held Wednesday, Jan. 27, at the Billy V. Hall Senior Activity Center with five members and one guest, Charlie Griffin, present.

President Jeanne Hubbard led the pledge of allegiance to the U. S. flag. Her devotion repeated the words to an old hymn and focused on her husband’s list of traits of a good father. He felt a good father was expected to be master of the household, be a priest, an example, a disciplinarian, a listener, a teacher, a counselor and an humble person.

Roll call was answered by Eda Montag and Mary Griffin who told of a good movie she had watched. Susan Holland read “The Meanest Mom in the World” and Betty Howard shared the quote, “The biggest troublemaker you’ll probably ever have to deal with watches you in the mirror every morning.” Jeanne told a joke about the Morman “Tap An Apple” Choir.

Betty read the minutes of the December meeting and they were approved as read. Mary gave the treasurer’s report. Members voted unanimously to donate $75 to the Gravette Public Library.

Betty gave the program, reading The Light Show; Excuses, Excuses and You Can’t Come Inside, three stories from Paul Harvey’s “The Rest of the Story”.

The meeting was adjourned and members enjoyed a potluck meal.
