Maysville News

Guess everyone knows all about the weather. At least it is melting some now and it’s supposed to be warmer all week.

The Senior Fun Day will be at the Maysville Community Center on Thursday of this week, Feb. 4, with visiting and maybe playing some board games. Then we will eat at lunch time. I’m sure some have already ordered their lunches for this Thursday. The schedule is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The next one will be on Thursday, Feb. 18, and you need to order your lunch on Monday, Feb. 15. Call Bert Ballmann, 1-479-291-4581.

All of Joaquina Martinez’s seven children visited her sometime during the holidays. They report a great time visiting together and, of course, always a lot of good food. All of her grandchildren but two were there. I am sorry about not getting this in the week I should have. Glad they had a good time.

Call me anytime you have news. I appreciate it even though I’m late sometimes.

Berti Ray visited Jewel Lukens on day this week. They had a great visit.

We were sorry to hear of the death of Max Crawley late Friday afternoon. I have no details of the service. Sympathy is extended to the family.

Maysville Bible Church canceled services Sunday because of the weather. There will be services this coming Sunday. Jheri Roberts will be our guest speaker. If you don’t have a church we welcome you to come and visit us and hopefully come back.

News of the death of Mary England was received last week. She had lived here in Maysville community for several years and was active in Maysville Bible Church and Maysville E. H. Club. We missed her when she moved to Truth or Consequences, N.M. Sympathy is extended to the family.

Maysville E. H. Club had to cancel their meeting last week because of bad weather. I don’t know if it will be rescheduled or have January and February meetings combined. Orpha Wardlaw will let us know what she decides for us to do.
