DECATUR — Leroy Ortman, superintendent of Decatur Public Schools, was presented a plaque at the school’s recent Colors Day Pep Rally. Ortman was tapped as superintendent of the district since its operation was assumed by the state two years ago. The state removed the restriction last week, making way for local control.

Ortman served as superintendent of Gravette Schools several years until his retirement. He has said he will resign the Decatur position this summer and return to his retired status.
