Class of 1910 photos and information

Anyone with old photographs or names of graduating students from the Gentry High School Class of 1910 is asked to contact Martha Hawkins at the Gentry High School Library, or call her at 736-2667. The information is needed in preparation for the centennial graduating class this year.

Talbot Library and Museum Book Fair

Talbot Library and Museum, 500 So.Colcord Ave, Colcord, Okla., will be hosting a book fair with surplus books for sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday and Saturday, March 12 and 13.

Hundreds of old and new books - genealogy, local history, Cherokee research, county and family histories from many states - will be offered. Some books are one- copy-only, rare and collectible. Bible talks

Sunday afternoon Bible talks will be held at the Community Room in the Gentry Public Library beginning this Sunday at 4 p.m. The non-denominational talks are open to all. For more information, call Paul Eisler at 640-8610.

Gentry City Council

The Gentry City Council holds regular meetings in the city court room at 6:30 p.m., the first Monday of each month. The Gentry Planning and Zoning Commission meets in city hall at 7 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month.

Gentry School Board

The Gentry School Board holds regular meetings at 7 p.m.

on the third Monday of each month in the school district board room.

Town of Highfill

Highfill’s next council meeting will be at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 11, at the Highfill Community Building. The planning commission meeting is at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 23.

Chamber Awards

Gentry Chamber of Commerce is currently taking nominations for the 2009 community awards. The honors, along with the Lifetime Achievement Awards and honors for Arkansas’ Farm Family of the Year winners Bill and Delia Haak, will be presented at the Gentry Community Awards Night, beginning at 6 p.m. on Feb. 25, at the Wooden Spoon Restaurant in Gentry. Nominations are being accepted through Feb. 5 for Organization of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Pioneer of the Year, Citizen of the Year and Business Person of the Year.
