EXCEPT FOR WATER/ SEWER- Police, Administration Budgets Tops In City

— The following break-down of Gravette’s 2010 budget includes expenditure projections for the various departments of the city. When approved, (see related story) the final budget may be amended by Council action during the year to reflect changes.

The budget approved for the year ending December 31, 2010, totals $1,263,647 for all city departments except the water/sewer department. This compares with $1,334,217 for 2009 and $1,222,913 for 2008.

Projected revenue for the water/sewer department is $1,292,296 for 2010 with expenditures of $1,954,626.

The largest budget expenditure for the city except water/ sewer is for the police department which is $507,798 compared to $553,565in2009.The department showed actual expenditures of $529,708 last year. During the discussion, the Council added an additional $5,000 to the budget requested by Police Chief Trent Morrison to fund an additional 10 hours per week for a part time parole officer, making the total $512,798 for the year.
