Bessie Lucilla Andrews

Bessie Lucilla Andrews, 85, of Colcord, Okla., died Feb. 5, 2010, in Bentonville.

She was born March 5, 1924, in Avoca, to the Henry and Lizzie Grimes.

Survivors include eight sons, Max Andrews, and Larry Andrews and wife Vonda, all of Grove, Joe Andrews and wife Diane of Rogers, Wayne Andrews of East Siloam Springs, Carl Andrews and Harold Andrews, both of Colcord, Rick Andrews of Watts, Okla., and Edward Andrews and wife Cheri of Siloam Springs; five daughters, Pearl Powers of Pea Ridge, Betty McMahan of Colcord, Judy Adams of West Siloam Springs, Okla., Anita Stacy and husband Alan of Gentry, and Lena Pool of Jay, Okla.; 47 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Services were Feb. 9 at Rollins Funeral Home. Burial followed at Tuck’s Chapel Cemetery.

Kenneth Dixon

Kenneth Ray Dixon, 66, of Siloam Springs, died at his home on Feb. 4, 2010, after a 10-year battle with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

He was born Nov. 24, 1943, in Siloam Springs, the son of Henry Dixon and Mabel Virginia Elrod Dixon. He was 1962 graduate of Siloam Springs High School and attended Arkansas Tech and John Brown University. He was an area poultry farmer, a former member and officer of the Siloam Springs School Board and was active in the local Band Boosters and FFA Alumni Association. He was a board member of The Tired Iron of the Ozarks and also served on the Benton County FHA Loan Board.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Henry Dixon, Jr.

Survivors include his wife Carole of the home; two sons, Mark Ray Dixon and wife Julie, and Kevin Dale Dixon and wife Anissa, all of Siloam Springs; two grandchildren; and one brother, Thomas Dixon and wife Alice of Springfield.

Graveside services were Feb. 7 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs, with Louie Thomas officiating. Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

Christopher W. Roland

Christopher W. Roland, 24, of Washburn, Mo., died Jan. 28, 2010, in Gravette.

He was born Dec. 7, 1985, in Gravette to Melton William and Deborah Wilson Roland. After high school, he joined the National Guard.

Survivors include one son, Nicholas Hineland of Decatur; his father and stepmother Barbara of Washburn; his mother of Gravette; one brother; one stepsister; and one stepbrother.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are by Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home of Rogers.
