Girls beat Pea Ridge

After a tough week and losses to Shiloh Christian and Prairie Grove, the Lady Pioneers came away from Pea Ridge Saturday with a 55-45 win.

The Gentry girls, led by the shooting of Kendra Boyd and Kelsea Whitten, pulled ahead of Pea Ridge in the first quarter, finishing it with a 13-10 lead.

The girls built on that lead in the second andthird quarters, entering the fourth with a 40-28 lead. Pea ridge attempted a comeback in the fourth, scoring 17 points to Gentry’s 15, but it wasn’t enough.

Boyd picked up 13 points in the game, including two three-pointers. Whitten added 12 points shooting at 40 percent in the game.
