— Five persons who made special contributions to Gravette Public Library last year were honored recently by the library commission.

Betty Adams was selected as library volunteer of the year for 2009. Betty provides the popular service that takes books to the Senior Center each Wednesday and spends many hours at the library doing whatever she can to help. Susan Holland, commission chairperson, was chosen as commissioner of the year. They were presented plaques at the commission’s Christmas party in December.

Margo Thomas, library clerk, was voted Gravette Public Library employee of the year. She was unable to attend in December and was presented a plaque at the commission’s January meeting. Ron McDaniel was chosen patron of the year for 2009. Ron attended the commission meeting in November and made a rousing speech in support of the library. He also received his plaque in January.

Eli Wynn, 17, a home school student, was selected as teen volunteer of the year. He was presented a pen and key chain set by library manager Kim Boldt.
