FFA Building Auction

Decatur High School FFA will auction off a 12-by-15-foot storage building, with bids starting at $500. Money raised will be used to recover losses from a recent theft at the school’s Ag building. More information is available, and bids on the building may be placed for two weeks beginning on Feb. 17, by calling Lisa Barrett at 752-3983 or at 787-0431.

Rabies Clinic

Country View Animal Care will be offering rabies vaccinations for dogs and cats at a reduced rate at the Decatur Fire Station, from 4 to 5:30 p.m., March 31, as part of Benton County Rabies Clinic Week. Parks and Recreation

The next parks and recreation meeting will be held at 6 p.m., March 4, in the city council room at city hall. All members are urged to attend, along with anyone who is interested in joining the committee. For more information, call 752-3912.

Food Pantry Chili Supper

The Decatur United Methodist Church will be holding a chili supper to benefit the CIA Food Pantry from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 27. Chili will be served by the bowl, with frito pie, chili dogs or crackers. The food pantry is in need of assistance to stay open so residents are asked to come out and enjoy some chili to help feed the people in our area. Royce Johnson Benefit

A chili supper and auction to benefit Royce Johnson, who was diagnosed with cancer, will be held at 5 p.m., March 13, in the Northside Elementary School Cafeteria. Meals are $5 for adults and $3 for children age 3 and up. A pie auction will begin at 7 p.m., followed by a live auction. Donations of desserts or any new items are welcomed. Band Fundraiser

Decatur Band students are raising money for a trip to Branson, Mo., to attend an April band contest at the College of the Ozarks. Students in grades seven through 12 will be participating. Sonic cards can be purchased from any band student. For more information, contact the high school office at 752-3985.

Council Meetings

City council meetings are held at 6 p.m., the second Monday of each month in the council room at city hall and are open to the public. For more information, call 752-3912.

Assembly of God Van Service

Van service is available to children and adults who need transportation to Sunday morning and evening church services and Wednesday evening services at the Assembly of God Church in Decatur. For more information, contact Stacy Brooks at 790-7171.

Creators Cafe

Creators Cafe, a creative writing group, meets from 5-6:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursday of the month in the Iva Jane Peek Library. Activities include reading and writing poetry, discussions of famous poets and their work, challenges, slam and stand up, and contests and prizes. Town Hall Meetings

The Decatur School District holds regular town hall meetings in place of school board meetings at 7 p.m., the third Monday of the month, in the high school cafeteria.

VFW Meetings

The Gentry/Decatur VFW Post meets on the first Tuesday of each month - at 7 p.m. during the winter months. New members and guests are welcome. The facility is 3 miles east of Decatur on Arkansas Highway 102, right on Tilly’s Hill Road, and the first building on the right.
