Teams fall to Huntsville

— Huntsville Lady Eagles, using a 25-2 run that lasted from the first quarter until the third, got 18 points from senior Martha Robinson in a 51-28 win over the Lady Pioneers on Feb. 10.

Huntsville (19-7, 9-4 4A-1 Conference) lost 39-37 to the Lady Pioneers the first time the two played last month. In that game, the Lady Eagles led by nine points in the fourth quarter before going scoreless late.

Gentry (17-8, 7-6) led 6-5 midway through the first quarter on Wednesday after an inside basket by Terra Jones.

Huntsville, however, followed with a 21-2 run to close out the first half - extending the run two 25-2 and its lead to 30-8 after back-to-back baskets by Robinson to begin the third quarter. The Lady Eagles, who also got 13 points from Kelsey Rodden, went on to lead by as many as 29 points at 48-19 in the fourth quarter.

“That was a huge run,and if you get behind a team that guards as well as they do, it’s hard to fight back,” Gentry coach Tim Rippy said. “We had some good looks during the run, but we didn’t get anything to fall.” Huntsville 82, Gentry 52

BOYS - The Huntsville Eagles used a 28-point second quarter to take a 43-27 halftime lead over the gentry Pioneers on Feb. 10.

Kevin Scherer led Gentry (10-15, 1-12) with 15 points while Joe Morris added 14.
