SPRINGDALE — Berryville girls defeated the Gravette Lady Lions 88-77 in first round action at the 4A-1 District Tournament held in Springdale last week.

Berryville (9-17) and Gravette (8-18) had split games during the regular season but theLady Lions had few answers for Berryville’s hot shooting. The Lady Bobcats led 69-36 at the end of the third quarter.

Samantha Vanotterloo led Gravette with 17 points, Julia Himsl had 14, Taylor Detring 12 and Shyanne Nichols 10.

Lions Lose

The Lions also dropped their game to the Berryville Bobcats in opening round action, 67-48.

Berryville (12-13) was led by KJ Phillips who scored 23 points. Scoring leader for Gravette (4-22) was Kyle Bilderback who had 10 points.
