Cooper Pledges Land Site For New School In Bella Vista

— Gravette School Board at its recent meeting approved a conditional intent agreement with Cooper Communities for a site for a new elementary school in Bella Vista.

The district has been seeking a site for many months and the offer by Cooper Communities will solve the selection process. When a building will be constructed is unknown at this time.

Cooper is reserving an acreage not far from the Highway 340 entrance to The Highlands fora period of ten years, or until financing construction of a school begins.

When that occurs, Cooper will deed the property to the school with a revision clause that if the property is not used for a school it will return to Cooper. There are other design and construction requirements in the document signed by J. Neff Basore representing Cooper.

John Edwards, president of the School Board, signed the agreement February 15 after the board gave its approval.
