With the temperature predicted to dip below zero later this week, a check of the past 15 years’ records show the last time it hit below zero was December 22, 1998, when the mercury plunged to minus 3.

The coldest day duringthe past 15 years was February 4, 1996 when it was 14 below zero with 4 inches of snow on the ground.

Since 2000, the temperature has remained at zero or above. Last year the low was 4 degrees on Jan. 16.
