City revenue picture mixed

GENTRY / DECATUR - The incoming tax revenue picture was mixed for the month of December in the cities of Gentry and Decatur, with county tax revenue down for both.

Gentry received $54,070 in city sales and use tax revenue for December, compared to $42,125 in December of 2008. Decatur sales taxes were down from the previous year, with the city receiving $13,752 in December 2009 and $26,527 for the same month in 2008.

County sales and use taxes for December were down slightly for Gentry, from $40,991 in 2008 to $36,961 in 2009. Decatur’s incoming county tax moneys fell from $22,111 in December of 2008 to $19,937 in 2009.
