The Eagles Have Landed . . . .

— The eagle has landed. Or, more appropriately, the eagles have landed.

Bob Misenheimer, who lives about a mile west of Gravette, counted 35 of the white-capped birds near his pond and Debbie Skinner stopped to take these pictures.

Debbie wrote, “As I was driving home Sunday afternoon we noticed a whole flock of bald eagles along Highway 72 behind Misenheimer’s Auto Body.

“We were shocked to see more than 30 of these magnificent birds sitting in trees and flying in the area.”

One of her photos, shown here, shows an eagle in flight descending toward a treetop in which almost a dozen birds were sitting. Other photos, not printed, showed dozens of the birds in distant trees.
