— Jerry Lykins

Jerry Nell Lykins, 86, of Bentonville, died Thursday, January 7, 2010, in Rockport, Texas. She was born November 22, 1923, in Albany, TX, the daughter of John and Geraldine Lynch Self.

She moved to Bentonville at an early age with her parents and attended Bentonville High School. She married Earl Lykins in 1946. She was a homemaker, helped with the family farm and cattle operation and was a member of Bentonville First Baptist Church. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Earl E. Lykins; a son, Bobby Lykins; a brother, Bill Self; and two sisters, Betty Pruitt and Mary Aguero.

Survivors include one son, John Lykins and wife Janice of Gravette; one daughter, Ann Gill and husband David of Rockport; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held Tuesday, January 12, at 10 a.m. at Stockdale Funeral Home chapel in Rogers with Rev. Don Bortell officiating. Burial was in Benton County Memorial Park.

Ronald Davidson

Ronald A. Davidson, 60, of Gravette, died Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born April 27, 1949, in Prairie Grove, AR, the son of Paul C. and Inola Meadows Davidson.

Mr. Davidson attended Gravette schools and lived in Gravette area most of his life. He served in the United States Army and was an automobile salesman until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his mother, Inola Davidson of Bella Vista; his brother, Paul L. Davidson of Bentonville and an aunt, Sue Stumbo, of Bentonville.

A gathering of friends and family was held the afternoon of Sunday, January 10, at Bella Vista Funeral Home.

Ferne Smith

Ferne Evelyn Smith, 96, of Gravette, died January 8, 1910, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. She was born October 20, 1913, the daughter of Lafayette and Mary M. Hall Schell. She married Orlia Smith in 1937. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include two daughters, Orlene Webb and husband John of Gravette and Cleta Whitman and husband Glenn of Gravette; one sister, Theo Robbins of Huntsville; one sister-in-law, Gladys Taylor of Gravette; six grandchildren, 13-great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was Monday, January 11, at 10 a.m. at Gravette Church of Christ. Burial was at Decatur Cemetery under direction of Wasson Funeral Home.
