Gleamers 4-H’ers Have Busy Meeting

— On January 11, Gravette Gleamers 4-H Club held their monthly meeting. They started by reciting the pledges to the U. S. and 4-H flags and then our songleaders, Hanna and Haley Graves, led us in a 4-H song. Next they introduced the visitors and new members and welcomed them to join.

We discussed old and new business and announced our Valentine king, Ethan Cook, and our Valentine queen, HeatherWhitehead. They will be trying to raise money for the Benton County 4-H Foundation.

The Valentine Carnival will be February 20 at the Benton County Fairgrounds from 6 to 8:30 p.m. All are invited to play carnival games and eat homemade pies from the pie baking contest. So please support Ethan and Heather by putting money in their Valentine king and queen cans which will be placed in several businesses in ourcommunity. If they raise the most money they will be crowned Benton County Valentine king and queen for 2010.

We also discussed what community services were scheduled for this month. We volunteered at Feed My Sheep on January 14 and the Salvation Army on January 16, We also did a “Learn the 4-H Pledge” activity and worked on our donation boxes for the king and queen.

On December 29 we helda journal workshop at the Boys and Girls Club. We had 11 members attend and six adult leaders to help the members finish their journals. We learned a lot and had a great time. Thank you, Cindy Pembleton and Susan McPherson, for putting this workshop together.

If you would like to join 4-H or if you would like more information please contact Cindy Pembleton at 479-644-9058.
