Trash pick-up changes could come to Gentry

GENTRY — In case anyone has been wondering about all the trash bins setting on city property along Dawn Hill Road East, the bins are temporarily located there while Allied Waste Services, the city’s trash contractor, changes out old trash dumpsters with new front-load dumpsters to make it easier and faster to pick up trash from commercial customers in town.

“We allowed the trash company to temporarily use the city land to change out their dumpsters,” Gentry Mayor Wes Hogue said on Friday.

Once the change out is complete, trash pick-up days could also change, Hogue said. The company will be required to notify trash customers of any changes in pickup days.
