Wednesday, July 7, 2010

— Susan Edgmon, Gravette’s award winning artist, is featured in a new book, “The Art and Artisans of The Ozarks”, which includes works by artists from throughout the region.

Edgmon operates Edgmon Art as an artist and instructor. She has been featured in several nationally distributed books and has studied in locations in France and Italy.

Her husband, Bill, is a craftsman who creates complementary frames, etc., for her work and that of others.

The new hardcover volume headlines at least five examples of her pastel oils including a cover reproduction of tulips. Others include still life and floral paintings.

The 150-page all-color book has been issued by the Palette Art League, headquartered in Yellville, AR. Copies are available by calling Edgmon, 787-5098. The cost is $25.95.

In addition to painting, Edgmon has designed and patented a travel easel box for artists, the Unique Plein Aire, which is crafted at the family shop. The alder wood box mounts on a camera tripod and holds a plethora of art supplies. Information on the product is available at edgmonart.com.
