Gentry man injured in fatal motorcycle crash

— A Gentry man was injured and an Oklahoma woman died as a result of a motorcycle crash near Jay, Okla., at 1:45 p.m. Saturday.

According to a Oklahoma Highway Patrol release, Billy Crook, 60, of Gentry, failed to negotiate a curve on U.S.

Highway 59, 1 1/2 miles south of Jay. His 2008 Honda motorcycle left the roadway and rolled, the release states.

Crook was transported by AirEvac helicopter to Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, where he was admitted with head and internal and external trunk injuries and in poor condition.

His passenger, Dorothy Reece, 61, of Grove, Okla., was also transported by AirEvac to Washington Regional Medical Center, where she died Saturday evening due to injuries she received in the crash.

Neither Crook nor Reece were wearing helmets at the time of the accident, the release states.
