Hugh “Dalton” Sanford

Hugh “Dalton” Sanford, 73, of Gentry, passed at Springdale after a lengthy illness. Dalton was born March 12, 1937 at Center, Texas, to parents Hugh Bryant Sanford and Madge Summers Sanford. He grew up in Arkansas and later moved to Oregon. On June 23, 1957, Dalton was united in marriage to Luella Jean French at Pendleton, Ore. They enjoyed 53 years of marriage. In 1962, the family moved to Northwest Arkansas where Dalton worked many years in cabinet sales.

Dalton was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Odessa Brinegar, and one granddaughter, Missy Stanfill.

He is survived by his wife, Luella Sanford of Gentry; son, Reg Sanford and wife Mary Beth, of Greenville, S.C.; daughters, Tammy Shelley of Gentry, Debbie Brazil and husband Tom of Colcord, Okla., Vicki Howard of Ashville, N.C., Tonya Wineland and husband Joel of San Antonio, Texas; 13 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family also wishes to thank the Springtown Adventist Church “Cowboy Church” for their love and support during this time.

Arrangements are with Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home of Rogers.

- PAID OBITUARY Stanley Loren Fox

Stanley Loren Fox, 73, of Bella Vista, died July 7, 2010, in Bentonville.

He was born July 18, 1936, in Humansville, Mo., to James L. Fox and Phyllis Baron Fox. He served 21 years in the Air Force. He was involved in the PowerPoint Ministry at Bella Vista Christian Church and First Christian Church of Gentry.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Ann Fox; two daughters, Catherine Simmons of Centralia, Mo., and Lorraine Fox of Bella Vista; and a son, Stanley L. Fox II of Oella, Md.; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

Services were July 13 at Bella Vista Christian Church. Burial was in Fayetteville National Cemetery. Arrangements were by Epting Funeral Home in Bella Vista.

Robert Lee Jones

Robert Lee Jones, 80, of Siloam Springs, died July 8, 2010, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale.

He was born July 31, 1929, in Gentry, to John Fredrick Jones and Lula McCratic Jones. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was retired from Gates Rubber Company in Siloam Springs.

Survivors include two daughters, Debra Barnes and husband Darrel and Linda Sue Brewer and husband James, all of Siloam Springs; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Louise Sherrill of Siloam Springs.

Funeral services were July 12 at Sager Creek Community Church in Siloam Springs. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs. Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

James Owen Mays

James Owen Mays, 61, of Springdale, died July 5, 2010, at his home.

He was born Oct. 19, 1948, in Marysville, Calif., to the late Gilbert Owen and Madalin Roberta (Holden) Mays. He was a Marine, serving his country in Vietnam in the late 1960s.

Survivors include his wife, Molly of the home; three sons, Jason Mays of Springdale, Kristopher Mays and his wife Martha of Rogers, and Thomas Mays and his wife Brittany of Springdale; one sister, Roberta Wilmoth and her husband Kenneth of Colcord, Okla.; and five grandchildren.

Services were July 9 at Friendship Baptist Church in Springdale. Arrangements were by Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers.

Elizabeth Jean Merriman

Elizabeth Jean Merriman, 42, of Powell, Mo., died July 1, 2010, from injuries suffered in a tractor accident.

She was born Nov. 24, 1967, in Bentonville, to Leonard Henry and Carla Jean Lewis Robertson. She was raised in Hiwasse and was a 1987 graduate of Gravette High School. She was a homemaker and enjoyed craft projects, bingo and quilting.

Survivors include her husband, Grant Merriman, of the home; a daughter and son, April and Leonard Merriman, both of the home; her mother, Carla Drew and husband Bob, of Hiwasse; paternal grandmother, Fern Robertson, of Hiwasse; two brothers, Clayton Robertson and wife Darla, of Anderson, Mo., and Doyle Robertson, of Hiwasse.

Funeral services were July 7 at Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson. Burial followed in the Union Cemetery.

Arrangements were by Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson.

Clark Dale Tucker

Clark Dale Tucker, 73, died July 8, 2010, at his home in Colcord, Okla.

He was born Feb. 21, 1937, in Okemah, Okla., to Howard and Marie McCurdy Tucker Roberts. He had worked as a supervisor at Gates Rubber Co. in Siloam Springs.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara; two daughters, Tina Birkes and husband Brad and Gina Keenom, all of Colcord, Okla.; four brothers; five grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services were July 12 at Bethel United Methodist Church in West Siloam Springs, Okla. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs.

Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.
