Miss Gravette, Pageants, Procedures Announced

— Deree Mitchell, director of the Miss Gravette and other beauty pageants for Gravette Day, released the following information concerning the pageants.

The release notes the Miss Gravette pageant will be held at 7 p.m. Friday evening, August 13, at the Performing Arts Center with the evening program theme of the popular 1984 movie “Footloose”.

Entries Are Sought Following is information for girls who are being encouraged to enter this annual event which is one of the highlights of Gravette Day.

The Miss Gravette pageant will include an opening number, casual wear, evening wear, interview competition and a finale.

The new Miss Gravette 2010 will be crowned on Saturday, August 14, in thepark following the parade. All Gravette High School girls in grades 9 through 12 are eligible and encouraged to participate.

This year’s Court of Honor will include Miss Gravette Makayla Morrison, title holders, past winners and also some of Gravette High School’s talented students.

Director Deree Mitchell says, “I am very excited about this year’s pageant. Footloose has been one of my all-time favorite movies. Our contestants and community are in for a great night!” Former Miss Gravette winners are invited to attend and the community is encouraged to come show their support as well.
