I received word this week that a cousin-in-law, Lou Ellen Tyler Dunfee, formerly of Sulphur Springs, had passed away in Yakima, Washington. She had lived in Yakima for the last several years.

With the new deadlines coming up at the paper office that means I am going to have to rework my schedule. Bear with me.

Due to lack of interest the Hiwasse Baptist Church is considering canceling their role in ordering and delivery for the Angel Food Ministries. It will be a shame if the area loses this much needed and appreciated service.

Amy Brooks fixed a delicious birthday lunch for her mother, Paula Carrier, on Sunday. Others helping Paula celebrate were her husband Ward, children Mike, Gabe, Brian, Diane, Amy and Tom, also Mr. and Mrs. Lofty Carrier, Lamarise Carrier, Jason Rupp and myself.

Larry and Regina Keith were in Springfield, MO,on Sunday visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Logan. Regina’s dad is not doing so well at this time.

Family and friends met at the home of Leon Carothers on Sunday evening to celebrate the birthdays of his two daughters and a great-granddaughter.

Jake Carver won first in his class at a hog show this week.

Jake and Grandma Carlton visited the museum at Bentonville and the Bella Vista library this week.

All members of the 1960 graduating class remember your 50th reunion on Friday the 13th.

Robert and Geneva Hamilton have returned home from Mayo Clinic where Robert underwent a checkup. Enroute they visited with friends in Kansas City.

July 28, 1952, a severe hailstorm broke windows, damaged roofs and stripped trees of their leaves near Benson, Arizona. The hail accumulated to three inches with drifts nearly four feet deep.
