Cody Carroll Carnahan

Cody Carroll Carnahan, 20, of Sulphur Springs, died July 17, 2010.

He was born Nov. 20, 1989, in Gravette, to Rickey Carnahan and Jodi Stimson. He was an auto-body repairman.

He is survived by his father, Rickey, of Sulphur Springs; his mother, Jodi, of Decatur; two sisters, Kimberly Auffet of Decatur, Amanda Carnahan of Jay, Okla.; and his daughter, Lexie Marie Kier of Gravette.

Services were July 21, with Jheri Roberts officiating. Burial was at Dow Cemetery in Gravette.

Arrangements were by Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Bentonville. David Gregory Estes

David Gregory Estes, 43, of Decatur, died July 20, 2010.

He was born Aug. 3, 1966, in Rogers, to Albert Ray “A.R.” Estes, Jr., and Glynda Hutchens Estes. He had lived in Decatur for the past three years and was a farmer. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gentry.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Karyn Dale Estes.

Survivors include his wife Jerrese Carwile Estes, son, Daniel Gregory Estes, and daughter, Joy Ruth Estes, all of the home; his parents, A.R. and Glynda Estes of Bentonville; and one sister, Denise Estes of Tulsa, Okla.

Funeral services were July 24 at the First Baptist Church of Gentry, with Robin Cowin and Ron Fields officiating.

Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

James Owen Mays

Jim Mays, 61, of Springdale, died July 5, 2010, at his home.

He was born Oct. 19, 1948, in Marysville, Calif., to the late Owen Gilbert and Madalin Mays. He was the owner of Mays Tree Service for 40 years. He graduated from Rogers High School in 1966. He enlisted in the U.S. Marines where he served his country in Vietnam in 1967-68. He received several Purple Hearts and numerous accommodations. He enjoyed flying small planes, hunting, fishing, skiing and missions.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Debby May and Caraline Miller.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Molly; three sons, Jason Mays of Springdale, Kristopher Mays and his wife Martha of Rogers, andThomas Mays and his wife Brittany of Springdale; one sister, Roberta Wilmoth and her husband, Kenny of Colcord, Okla.; and six grandchildren.

He served through the bus ministry of First Baptist Church for over 20 years, and pioneered a bus ministry at Friendship Baptist Church in Springdale. He spent 12 years taking youth on mission trips.

Funeral services were held July 9, 2010.

Wayne Meigs

Wayne Meigs, 93, of Decatur, died July 19, 2010, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Siloam Springs on Sept. 3, 1916, to the late Tad Marshall and Bessie Lee Steward Meigs. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II.

Survivors include his children, Mary Jane Henderson and husband Dan, Donna Meigs, Lex Meigs and wife Marcia, all of Decatur; a sister, Frances Owsley of Aztec, N.M.; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Olga Meigs; daughters Barbara Ann Meigs and Shirley Nance; and three brothers, Marshall, Cecil and John Meigs.

Funeral services were July 23 at Decatur United Methodist Church. Burial with military honors followed at Decatur Cemetery.

Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the food pantry at Decatur United Methodist Church.

Arrangements were by Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Bentonville.

Elden Mullinax

Elden Mullinax, 88, of Decatur, died July 19, 2010, at his home.

He was born Jan. 8, 1922 in Protein, Mo., to William Mullinax and Rose Tabor Mullinax. He was an Army veteran. He moved to Decatur from Tulsa, Okla., 40 years ago. He was a truck driver. He married Clara Merley on Feb. 17, 1946. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include one son, Elden Mullinax of Decatur; four daughters, Charlene Gatlin, Margaret Foster, and Barbara Hardin, all of Decatur, and Mary Johnson of Sulphur Springs; 24 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were July 22 atWasson Memorial Chapel in Siloam Springs. Burial followed at Decatur Cemetery in Decatur.

Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.

Irene Marland Smith

Irene Marland Smith, 86, of Siloam Springs, died July 23, 2010, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital, in Siloam Springs.

She was born Nov. 11, 1923, in Colcord, Okla., to Joe Blagg and Mina Mitchell. She worked for 35 years in the poultry industry before retiring from Peterson’s Industries. She was a member of Missionary Baptist Church in Colcord.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; a stillborn son; three brothers, Bill Blagg, Marion Blagg and Arlis Blagg; and six sisters, Georgia Hatfield, Edna Porter, Martha Allen, Evadean Allen, Roxie Kirby and Ruth Blagg.

She is survived by a son, Garry Smith and wife Donna, of Colcord; four grandchildren; five great-grand children; and a great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., July 28, 2010, at Wasson Memorial Chapel in Siloam Springs.

Arrangements are by Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

Keisha Rainbow Wood

Keisha Rainbow Wood, 21, of Twin Oaks, Okla., died July 20, 2010, at Hillcrest Medical Center, Tulsa, Okla.

She was born Dec. 23, 1988, in Gravette, to Thomas Richard Wood and Rhonda Gail Tyler Wood. She was a graduate of Kansas High School, Kansas, Okla. She was a member of the Galilean Church in Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, LD Wood.

Survivors include her mother and father, Rhonda and Thomas Wood of Twin Oaks; one brother, Richard Wood and wife Jenifer, and one nephew, Azariah Wood, all of Gentry; one sister, Destiny Drinnon of Clarkford, Idaho; her grandparents, Shirley and Carl Tyler of Rose, Okla., and Helen Wood of Twin Oaks.

Funeral services were July 24, at the Galilean Church in Kansas, with Leighton Reed officiating. Burial followed at Leach Cemetery, Leach Okla.

Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.
