LITTLE ROCK — Cousins Asa Pennel Pharr and Jennifer Shannon Pharr both graduated in May from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.

Asa Pharr, son of Mike and Beverly Pharr of Gentry, graduated from UAMS and will be doing his residency in psychiatry at the MedicalUniversity of South Carolina in Charleston. He is the grandson of Wayne Pharr of Lincoln and the late Louise Sturdy, and Harley Pennel of Morrow and the late Florean Pennel.

Jennifer Pharr, daughter of Gene and Cindy Pharr of Lincoln, graduated from UAMS and will be doing her residency in family medicine at AHEC in Fayetteville. She is thegranddaughter of the late Harold Pharr and Betty Pharr of Lincoln, and John R. Collins of Lincoln and the late Dorothea Collins.

Asa and Jennifer took the Hippocratic Oath and received their hoods in a separate honors convocation for the College of Medicine on Friday, May 12th, followed by the UAMS graduation ceremony on May 13th.
