Lovells Celebrate 50th Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Billy Lovell will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary when they are honored at a reception Sunday, June 6, at the Maysville Community Building.

Friends and family are invited to attend between the hours of two and four in the afternoon when they renew their vows. Billy Lovell and Violet Lukens were married May 29, 1960, at the Maysville Bible Church with Bill Smith officiating.

The couple lived in Perry, OK, for nine years before moving back to Arkansas in 1969. Violet was a 1960 graduate of Gravette High School. She worked for Elk River Mobile Homes for two years, then 19 years for CTS in Bentonville and for the past 12 years for Dayspring in Siloam Springs.

Billy was a 1959 graduate of Jay High School. He worked for Ditchwitch in Perry, OK, and later owned Lovell’s Garage in Maysville for nine years, worked for CTS for five years and retired from Franklin Electric in 2003 after 20 years of service.

The couple are members of Maysville Missionary Baptist Church. They are parents of six children, Jewelene Dial of Rogers, Janelle Smith of Jay, Joneva Beckman of St. Louis, Jonathan Lovell of Rogers, Julian Lovell of Gravette and Jodina Lovell of Siloam Springs. They have 14 grandchildren.
