ATV Rodeo set for Saturday

— The Parks and Recreation Committee met at the site of the upcoming ATV Rodeo on June 2 to make final plans for the event.

The rodeo will be held Saturday on city property located on Ivan Street. The event will include a truck pull, barrel races with professional, amateur and children's divisions, a mud pit, and variety of children’s games, according to Parks and Recreation Committee chairman Trip Lapham.

The Parks and Recreation Committee will also be serving concessions, including hamburgers and hot dogs, in order to raise money to cover the costs of the rodeo.

Lapham said the city property is ideal for the rodeo, with plenty of space for parking and events. The mud pit has already been dug and everything is ready for the rodeo, he said.

The committee will be posting signs along the route to guide attendees to the event,Lapham said. Directions to the rodeo are: beginning at the four-way stop, follow Falling Springs Avenue two miles west to the intersection of Falling Springs Road, ColumbiaHollow Road and Ivan Road. Follow Ivan Road to the dead-end.
