Buddy Day

A Fun, Fun Day At Glenn Duffy Elementary

Wednesday, June 9, 2010

— Monday, May 17, was a special day for students at Glenn Duffy Elementary School. It was “Buddy Day”.

“Kids in grades kindergarten, first and second enjoyed a day of games shared with their buddy,” said Coach Darren Alexander.

“Buddies were able to roam free to the games of their choice. It was a car nival atmosphere which was also enjoyed by the staff,” he added.

The activities required numerous parent volunteers who worked the game stations. Kindergarten buddies were helped by fifth graders who guided them from gameto game and Mrs. Rachael Gibson’s GATE students also provided help where it was needed to make the activities flow smoothly.

“We had donations from Little Debbie, Marvin’s Grocery and Dollar General who provided snacks and drinks and our wonderful PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) helped organize volunteers and furnished supplies,” Alexander added.

Looking forward to Buddy Day next year, Alexander hinted, “If you missed sharing this exciting day with our kids be sure to make plans next year to attend and help out. You won’t be disappointed.”
